This Sakar lens is a classic “budget” optic from the film era, manufactured in different countries including Japan and Korea. Its metal body feels solid and reassuringly heavy in hand, and the constant f/4.5 aperture is a practical feature for a zoom of this class. When stopped down, it can deliver surprisingly sharp images with pleasing color rendition and attractive bokeh, making it a fun tool for flower or wildlife photography on a budget.
